It may seem obvious, but they still don't act like a couple. Oftentimes, Takagi still gets flustered around her, as if he's walking on eggshells. But if he's dicking her down, why does he still act like that?

Most likely cause it's a kid show u cant expect characters to be so confident about that kind of thing

yeah, i FINALLY get that Takagi THOUGHT Satou was subtlety hinting that she'd missed her period that month. :> hehahah! :> i blame it on the subtitles from part 1.

here's the problems with Satou as a 'romantic partner' and why "he's walking on eggshells." :

1 Satou has a temper. she doesn't keep it in check very well either.

2 she is a hot and cold running GF. she got 'interested' with Takagi as a 'possible BF' but she compartmentalized it suddenly and suggested to Takagi they keep things 'professional'. the thing is, the anime NEVER SHOWED on-screen how Takagi wore Satou down and got her to officially date him. remember the time Takagi got kidnapped in Hokkaido? Satou was in the helicopter with Megure when they found Takagi tied up and laying on a plank in a home under renovation. Satou hopped out of the chopper (giving Takagi a panty-shot when her skirt blew up) and she saved Takagi and gave him a whole lot of hot and naughty kisses. Megure was still up in the chopper and didn't see them making out. while almost all of Team Megure was back at HQ watching those two having 'nigh on relations' on the camera/tablet the kidnapper set-up. once again an example of Satou being a 'hot and cold running GF'. ;)

3 she has 'dead daddy was a cop and he died on duty' issues.

4 her first 'crush' at work died in that Ferris wheel explosion at Tropical Land.

5th and most problematic? the poor lady is nigh on impossibly ignorant about romance and boy/girl relations that aren't 'professional'.

for example! she didn't even know what Valentine's Day was about (the Japanese version of it) or what White Day was all about on March 14th. she had NOT A CLUE she was supposed to give Takagi even a simple piece of store-bought chocolate on Feb. 14th. THEN she gets 'bitchy' in March NEAR the 14th when she finds out Takagi was supposed to get her a present on White Day. ALSO she gets even grumpier when Takagi refuses politely to get her a present that day (at the last minute) since SHE didn't get HIM anything in February. Takagi saves his OWN ass by being a smart BF. he had her White Day present hidden in Satou's red sports car's glove box the whole time. late in the day on the 14th of March, while he's driving her car, Takagi asks Satou to pull the map out and check the route they need to take. she finds the present and Takagi laughingly tells Satou, 'you really should check your own glove compartment once in a while!'

6th problem (but not directly linked to Satou herself) so, to the best of my knowledge Megure doesn't know two of his 'underlings' are actually dating/seeing each other/sleeping over/smooching and suchforth. that's a SERIOUS HR problem in Japan. especially in the police force since Satou is 'technically' still Takagi's senior officer and she's his immediate supervisor and the senior member of their team/partnership. Date, Takagi's previous partner and the 'trainer' while Takagi was a rookie detective DIED a little more than a year ago. Takagi had YET TO FINISH his 'rookie year' under Date. that's why Satou and Takagi first got partnered up together. Satou was supposed to finish that 'training year' with Takagi as Date's replacement.

but in a previous episode the DBC and Conan are riding with Satou in her red sports car. somehow sleeping positions and snoring comes up. i think Conan complained about having to room with Kogoro. something like "when he's drunk Kogoro falls out of bed atop me alot" and "ojisan snores like a monster". Haibara in her snarky 20 something lady way asks Satou how soundly Takagi sleeps. Satou describes how Takagi sleeps soundly, doesn't snore, and also doesn't move around much... all the kids stare at Satou. Haibara gives that 'ohhh reeeally?' line in that vaguely innocent but judgmental tone of hers. Satou QUICKLY backtracks in a panic and stutters out hurridly, 'oh that's when we're sleeping in the car on a stakeout... yeah... yeah... on stakeouts!'

The fact that they have the officers' voices literally saying "zawa zawa" and then "mera mera" 😆

7:11 The translator heard "kani sasarete" and put "pinched by a crab" since "kani" = crab, but he really said "ka ni sasarete", where "ka" = mosquito, and "ni" in context = by. So he was making up the excuse that he got bitten by a mosquito and scratched his skin too much.

Let's have some deductive analysis.

Fact: Sato said something like "I missed my, you know..."
Fact: Takagi misunderstood this as missing her period.
Fact: Takagi assumed he would be father soon and consider option such as resigning and become a "home-stay-dad".

Question: Does that mean they already have sex?
Question: If so, when and how did it went?
Question: If not, then why did Takagi reacted that way?

Hint: Do remember that Detective Conan is a kid's show.
